About Damien:
I’ve been interested in photography since I was a child but my enthusiasm blossomed when I got my first SLR. It was a Zenit. Everything about it needed to be set manually so I really had to understand what I was doing. Get everything right and it was as good as any camera. Get things wrong and it did not help you at all. I still have this camera but I’ve now discovered the joys of digital photography.
Until 2001 my main interest was wildlife, mostly macro with insects as my main subjects. In 2001 I was asked to do a shoot for Dracinabox. I found I enjoyed working with them even more than wildlife. Several shoots later I was hooked. I started to offer my services to alternative models on a TFP basis in 2003 and did my first portfolio shoot with Shadowjen in June. Since that time I’ve done several shoots that I think and hope have enhanced mine and the models ’
Portfolios and I’ve done further work for Dracinabox.
I’ve enjoyed working with every one of those models. I consider them my friends and I like to think they also found working with me to be a positive experience. I plan to do further TFP shoots with selected models but I’m also seeking paid work.
My rates for paid work are negotiable. I will expect a higher fee if you wish to have full copyright and control of the images. All my work so far is based on locations selected by myself, the models or Dracinabox. This is what I do best. If this interests you please let me know and we can discuss terms.
Models who are interested in TFP work are welcome to get in touch. If you think the work I do will enhance your portfolio I would love to hear from you. Of course I may decide that it will not benefit my
portfolio and decline. Please don’t take this personally. Each shoot costs money and I must spend that money where I think it will provide me with the best return. Those who don’t know me are welcome to check with models who have already worked with me. I hope and believe that they will give you good reports. I both welcome and encourage models to bring along a
companion / chaperone to shoots with me. I will not consider working with anyone under the age of 18
unless they are accompanied by a parent. I’m sorry but this is for my protection as well as yours.
All useable images from a TFP shoot are supplied to the model as digital images on CD. You will have the opportunity to reject photos that you feel do not
promote your image. The remaining photographs may be used freely as prints or digitally by either of us , including online for self promotion. If any of the
images are subsequently used for a commercial
purpose it will be with the prior agreement of both
parties and any profit should be shared equally.
I have only recently acquired the Olympus C5050Z. My previous camera was the Olympus C3040Z. Most of the photos on this site were created with the 3040. The 5050 is a better camera and can produce superior images. I keep the 3040 in reserve and take it to shoots “just in case”.
